Poolhousedreamplant

Collage and acrylic on wood panel
Various sizes // 2015

This collage series brings together dreamy, surreal environments. After discovering a collection of retro interior design books, I became captivated by their visual language. I was especially drawn to pools and houseplants—objects that exist in the space between the natural and the artificial.

In this series, I explored that fluidity, shifting between interior and exterior spaces, creating depth and then collapsing it. The series was featured in a solo show at Fort Gondo Compound for the Arts in St. Louis, MO, in the summer of 2015.
